North Cape exclusively uses HDPE (High-density polyethylene) resin to construct their woven outdoor products. HDPE is a synthetic, food-grade plastic that is highly durable and requires little maintenance. HDPE provides maximum strength and durability within a lightweight package making it perfect for outdoor furniture.
North Cape's resins are hand-woven over aluminum frames further enforcing the structure. The resin contains UV inhibitors and colors for lasting beauty. Tested with up to 4,000 hours in accelerated sun chambers, North Cape wicker is built to last nearly a decade even in the most extreme climates.
North Cape Teak
Teak is one of the most exclusive wood species in the world, renowned for its rich golden-brown color and weather-resistant properties. It is also highly resistant to rot, fungi and mildew, providing protection against the elements and heavy impacts in the outdoor living environment.
The wood used for manufacturing North Cape's teak products and components can be traced all the way back to its origin. All of North Cape’s teakwood is grown in Indonesia and complies with Indonesian TLAS regulations, which means the wood can be traced all the way to the place where the tree once grew. In addition to the teak grown on FSC™-certified plantations, North Cape manufactures products made from recycled teak wood components, sourced locally in Java, Indonesia.
